The study of places and the relationship between people and their environments.
Geography is the study of places and the relationship between people and their environments. Geographers explore both the physical properties of the Earth’s surface and the human societies spread across it. Geography seeks to understand where things are found, why they are there, and how they develop and change over time. Level 3 Geography provides an excellent foundation for senior school students in their final school year to better understand the world in which they live.
Level 3 Geography covers both the natural and cultural world:
Students will study a contemporary geographic issue which relates to the impacts of sea level rise in Bangladesh (Internal Assessment)
Students will study the global pattern of the distribution of financial wealth including location patterns, factors behind it and the social and economic effect it has had (Internal Assessment)
Students will apply geographic skills and concepts in a setting they are unfamiliar with (External Assessment)

Kia ora, I teach Geography at Cromwell College where I also work as a Guidance Counsellor. I am passionate about Geography because it is an interdisciplinary subject that pulls together the physical sciences and arts in a way that helps students to understand the environmental and cultural forces shaping the world around them. Outside of school I musch of my time is dedicated to my family with children aged 4 and 6. I'm also passionate about the outdoors, particularly rock climbing, mountaineering, skiing, tramping and biking.
