A course designed for students who wish to continue to study biology in their final high school year
This full-year course covers 14 credits at NCEA Level 3. 1 Externally assessed achievement standard worth 5 credits and 3 internally assessed standards worth 9 credits. Students will develop an understanding of animal and plant responses to the environment; human homeostasis systems and genetics. If we have time, there is a second external we can cover, this is looking at speciation (the development of species over time). This external is worth 4 credits.

Hi All, I am a full-time teacher, wife, and mother of three adult and almost adult children. I love reading, crafts, and spending quality time with the family. We have three cats (Pickles, Louie and Charlie) and lots of dogs (Levi, Maggie, Sophie Piper, Peaches, Wilbur, Lucy, Riley, and Milo). They are Miniature American Shepherds, very cute and fluffy. We also have Mya and Stella who are cocker spaniels. I grew up near Nelson and have lived in North Canterbury for over 25 years until moving to Akaroa in the middle of 2024.
