A study of why people behave the way they do in society
This Sociology course covers 5 key areas:
Sociological theories and how they apply to society both in New Zealand and Worldwide
Sociological institutions, how they work and how they influence us as individuals and society as a whole. We will look at crime, the media and families.
Social structures and their key characteristics. We will examine how society shakes our gender, ethnicity, age and class.
Social processes, examining how we are socialised into society and how being part of a global world has impacted on our lives as individuals b ut also as a society.
