Course Overview

Gaining insight into life in the Ancient World of both Homeric Greece and both Republican and Imperial Rome.  Through the study of Mythology, Society, Religion, Art, Architecture and Politics of these societies students are able to “walk in the shoes” of life in the societies our own world is modeled on.

 

Topics covered include:

- Classical Mythology and its influence on Modern Pop culture

- The Battle of Actium and start of the Roman Empire

- The Odyssey

- Roman Art and Architecture from Pompeii

- Roman Socio-Political Society with focus on slavery
