Identifying ions and observing and explaining redox reactions.
The aim of the course is to gain an understanding of the appearance of redox reactants and their products and identify whether a half reaction is oxidation or reduction by discussing transfer of electrons or oxidation numbers. In qualitative analysis the participant will collect primary data using an identification procedure (flow chart), identify the chemical species present and describe the significance of an identified chemical species for people and/or the environment.
