Course Overview

Level 3 Statistics focuses on developing statistical literacy and the skills to use statistical methods to analyse and interpret different types of data. It is applicable to many tertiary courses, particularly University.  Mathematics will be used to model real life situations and to make predictions.

Topics covered include:

  • Time Series

  • Bi-variate Data

  • Probability and Probability Distributions

  • Linear Programming

Course Details

Gain a greater understanding of how data can be analysed through the statistical enquiry cycle.
Graph, analyse and write a report which answers questions of interest as well as suggesting further ideas for investigation.
Use sophisticated graphing packages.
Ability to gain reading and writing Literacy credits.
