With over 25 years of teaching experience, I bring a rich and varied background to the classroom. Before entering education, I worked as an accountant, a role that continues to inform my teaching—particularly in the areas of Mathematics and Business Studies, Throughout my career, I have taught in a wide range of educational settings, including single-sex schools, co-educational schools, area schools, and colleges, giving me a broad understanding of diverse learning environments and student needs. I spent seven years living in the Netherlands, using it as a base to travel widely throughout Europe. This time abroad deepened my appreciation for different cultures and perspectives, something I aim to pass on to my students. Outside the classroom, I am an active sportsperson, enjoying netball, hockey, touch, basketball, swimming, watersports, and archery. I am also a passionate gardener, especially when it comes to growing produce—strawberries being my absolute favourite. As a parent of three adult children in their 30s, I value the importance of lifelong learning and personal growth. I strongly believe that all learners can achieve with the right support and encouragement. My favourite films, October Sky and August Rush, reflect my belief in perseverance, creativity, and I can't go past a Transformers movie.
