Create original work and perform scenes from significant plays from Aotearoa and the wider world.
Level One - Three Drama will cover 3 major strands: the use of drama techniques of voice, movement, body and space, understanding and using dramatic elements and conventions and developing knowledge of specific drama forms and theatre history, including Theatre Aoteroa. Students can analyse and perform drama and work on scripted productions.
There will be the opportunity to particpate in practical lessons / workshops with Senior Drama students at Whanganui Collegiate School in Term 3. Costs will be communicated early in 2024.

Kia ora, my name is Jennifer Gregg. I live in Whanganui, where my Great Grandparents, Grandfather and Father were born. I lived in various parts of the North Island as a young person and moved to Australia when I turned 18. I worked in Youth and Community Theatre and studied Theatre Theory and Practice in Sydney. I met my husband at a Community Arts Course and moved north to start our family. I became very homesick after my daughter was born and so moved back to New Zealand. I have been teaching Drama and directing Productions at Secondary Schools since then. This keeps me very busy but I also enjoy cooking (and cooking tv!), reading and writing and I'm about to try gardening in our new home. I love teaching drama as I believe it creates a community and bond that is quite unique. I remember all my students and miss those who have graduated. I look forward to working with new students from a variety of backgrounds.
